Mr. Sam Santhosh
Mr. Sam Santhosh serves as the Strategic Advisor for the Kerala Genome Data Center (KGDC), bringing more than 20 years of entrepreneurial experience in the software industry, with the last 15 years dedicated to the Biotech Industry. His current focus lies in Genomics, utilizing Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS)
Technologies. In 2009, he founded SciGenom Labs in Kochi, India, incubatingentities such as MedGenome, AgriGenome, and MagGenome. MedGenome, a global leader in Genomics Research and Diagnostics, was spun off in 2013 and is now headquartered in San Francisco with labs in Bangalore, India, and Singapore.
In 2016, AgriGenome was spun off, operating labs in Kochi and Hyderabad,India, with a mission to assist organizations in developing superior crops through Genomics data. MagGenome, specializing in manufacturing nucleic acid extraction kits utilizing Magnetic Nanoparticles and patented technology, was spun off in 2018. The company has a laboratory in Kochi and a production and sales office in Chennai.
In 2010, Mr. Santhosh established the SciGenom Research Foundation(SGRF) in Kochi as a non-profit trust dedicated to promoting Scientific Research and Education in India. SGRF hosts the NGBT conference in India and is involved in setting up the ‘Hortus Malabaricus,’ a Medicinal plant garden in Thrissur, Kerala, India.
