Electric Vehicles Consortium

Towards fuel-efficient and carbon-neutral rides for the future

K-DISC is the nodal agency of the Government of Kerala to spearhead the formulation and implementation of the Electric Vehicles Policy for the State and also suggest ways of bringing value addition to the mineral rich beach sands of Kerala that can be utilized as a catalyst for change and bring about a manufacturing ecosystem in Kerala.

Aims & Objectives

  1. Support the National commitment to reduce greenhouse gas emissions
  2. Improving air quality, especially in cities
  3. Promoting shared mobility and clean transportation
  4. Balancing of the peak and off-peak power demand for the electric utility (KSEBL)
  5. Operational efficiency and savings for the transport utility (KSRTC) as well as the transport sector in general, and
  6. Strategic intent to boost hardware and software manufacturing in the State.

Travancore Titanium Products Ltd (TTPL) Manufacture of LTO Electrode Material
Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) Material characterization, Cell Design and using different cathode materials  (Nickel-Cobalt-Aluminium Oxide (NCA), Nickel-Manganese Cobalt Oxide (NMC), Lithium Iron Phosphate  (LFP), development and qualification)
TrEST Research Park Motors, Controllers for EV application - Design and Development
Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) Development of Power  Electronic Systems for Battery, Wide Band Gap (WBG) Power Electronic Controllers for Drives
*TrEST Research Park is also involved in the establishment of DriveTrain Testing Lab as part of the EV Consortium program.
